商务英语课程教学大纲2004年8月制定课程编号:课程类别: 专业基础课前置课程: Senior Middle School English,Hope English学分: 15课时:160选定教材: 李德荣、戚远方主编,商务英语精读,上海市梅陇路130号:华东理工大学出版社,2004年7月课程简介: 本课程的开设是面对高职高专涉外经贸和管理类大专学生使用的专业英语课程,旨在提高学生在英语环境中从事企业活动和商务交际的能力。全书共16章,内容涉及企业、企业管理和商务活动的众多领域。所有课文均选材于英美等国今年出版的书刊和文章,内容与文字简洁实用、富有新意,具有较强的时代感。课程教学目的:旨在传授学生从事国际商务所需用专业英语交流的基本知识和技能。通过本课程的学习,使学生基本掌握商务英语交流的基本技能,熟悉并掌握当代商务理念和国际商务惯例;进一步提高学生的听、读、说、写、译的能力,和在实际商务工作环境中应用英语的能力,使其能够在不同的商务活动中正确使用英语打好基础。教学中应注意的问题:1、本教材采用了一些案例和采访记录以丰富体裁。教师应采用多种灵活多变、理论联系实践的教学方法,既让学生了解有关企业、企业管理和商务活动的基本知识,又要使学生在语言上与国际接轨,兼顾到专业知识和外语技能的应用。2、每课除课文外,均配有词汇和词汇学习、难点注释,以及与课文内容紧密结合的练习和补充阅读。各章教学要求及教学要点(Course Content & Functions:)Unit 1Business and Social Responsibility Objectives:To enable Ss to talk about business and social responsibilityTo practice reading for gist and specific informationTo enable Ss to make and change arrangementsText:Speaking:Ss work in pairs and rank requirements for successful relations between business and social responsibility. Unit 8: Common Stock and Preferred Stock Objectives: To enable Ss to talk about some information about stock. To practice reading for specific information. To practice writing a letter of apology. To practice supplement reading for gist. Common Stock: Speaking: Ss discuss what common stock is. Reading 1: Ss read the text and answer comprehension questions. Reading 2: Ss do post-reading comprehension Ex.2. Preferred Stock : Speaking: Ss discuss what preferred stock is. Reading: Ss find out the difference between common stock and preferred stock. Supplement reading: Reading: Ss read 2 passages for gist.Requirement of Course Teaching:This course is designed to use Multimedia to teach interactively in class, and teach in English. Students are required to preview the relative unit of each class. The course contains:Introduction:An introductory unit that gives the students information about the examination and this preparation course. It also gives tips on developing the vocabulary skills. Core units:Ten double units that cover a wide range of business-related topics, which are taught in class. Many of the exercise types are the same as those in the examination. Self-study: A section after every double unit to provide consolidation of the vocabulary and functions of each unit, which is used by students after class. It also contains a focus on a particular grammatical area to enable the students to review their grammar systematically. Exam practice:Tests after every eight unit to provide further practice in the examination skills the students will need, which are used in class as quizzes. Vocabulary exercises:Pair work and supplementary activities after the text, which are used in or after class. Tape scripts: The content of the cassettes, which is for students reference. Essential vocabulary: A list of the key vocabulary in each unit, for class use and review. Final Exam: This will be a close book exam, which covers the core units and essential functions, aiming to test students comprehensive abilities and skills in International Business English.
