People often go there to climb the hill, get in close touch with waterfall as well as enjoy the amazing silence. AND! There are exactly 9999 steps of the hill. Many people would like to challenge themselves to climb to the top, but I think its too tiring If you go there in the right time (before Chinese Spring Festival I think) and there are very few tourists to visit, you will find it very quiet and peaceful. Places of interests 2.Arichitecture (2) Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street (上下九步行街) Location: in Shangjiu Road in Liwan District (荔湾区上九路、下九路、十甫路) The buildings beside the pedestrian street are all Qilou(骑楼), which are specially designed for Guangzhou people to enjoy their shopping time without worrying rain and the hot sun. Historical scenic spots (1) The Chen Clan Academy (陈家祠) Location: on Zhongshan Road Seven in Liwan District (荔湾区中山七路) The Chen Clan Academy（陈家祠） is an academic temple in Guangzhou, China ,built by the 72 Chen clans for their juniors accommodation and preparation for the imperial examinations(科举) in 1894 in Qing Dynasty .Later it was changed to be the Chen Clans Industry College, and then middle school afterward. Now it houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum(广东民间工艺博物馆). The Chen Clan academy is notable for the rich decorations which exist inside, outside the halls and in almost every beams, ridges, walls and columns. This make the Chen Clan Academy a large collection of wood carving(木雕), stone carving（石雕） ,brick carving（砖雕）, pottery（陶器）,plaster（石膏） and iron engraving（铁雕刻）.,Second. Places of interests 3. Historical scenic spots (2) The Huangbu Antient Port (黄埔古港) Location: in Huangbu Village in Haizhu District (海珠区黄埔村，临近新港东路) Huangpu Village has well-preserved historical buildings with Lingnan style(岭南风格). Tile carving, wood carving, clay sculptures, wok-ear-shaped houses and slate roads can be seen everywhere in the village. According to the 3rd national cultural relics census, the village still retains 14 ancestral temples of the Qing Dynasty, 4 old-style private schools, 1 temple, 2 sites of commercial streets and tens of dwelling houses built during the Qing Dynasty. Huangpu Village still retains rich Lingnan folk culture such as traditional celebration events: lanterns in the Lantern Festival, sacrifice on the Tomb-Sweeping Day, Piaose performance for the Northern Emperors Birthday, dragon boat racing in the Dragon Boat Festival and moon salutation in the Mid-autumn Festival.
